June 7, 2016 Update to Water Conservation Notice

Residents of Wilderness Rim—

We have learned from Sallal Water Association that there will be a delay in replacing the well pump that has failed. It will be the end of the June before it is repaired. We are relying on a single well that is functioning at three-quarter capacity so the total water supply is reduced by more than one-half.

Remember, this is not a water quality issue. Our water is as safe as ever.

Sallal has asked in particular that we reduce as much as possible outdoor water uses. These would include watering the lawn, car washing, pressure washing, filling your hot tub or pool.

We recognize the hot weather will make some of this a challenge and ask that you just try to do what you can to help out in this situation.

Activities such as steam cleaning carpets should be delayed if possible until after the first of July.

Your family needs to make decisions about where water use can be reduced inside the home.   Fewer loads of laundry, and more diligence on general water saving behaviors we already know are helpful can make a significant difference when many households make an effort.

We appreciate your consideration in this situation and will update this website as new information is available.
