**Reminder** Only 5 days until the 2nd Annual Rim Run/Walk. We have some new courses this year and there will be fun prizes, awards, and yummy food. The events team has made this event free for everyone in the rim. In lieu of this, if you feel so moved, please consider a suggested donation to a charitable foundation of your wish. I think a fun run brings so much more meaning if you think of something that can make a difference in another persons life. My heart personally goes out to the Gallegos family who’s son passed away in our little community up here. We can all make a difference to others no matter how big or small. Please come on out and have some fun and make a difference in your life and perhaps someone else. Looking forward to seeing everyone!!
Calling all Runners and Walkers:
The 2nd annual Rim Run/Walk is fast approaching! We are one month away from some pure fun and excitement!! We are scheduled for Saturday, May 16th @ 10am. Please come early to register and receive your coveted racing bib, socialize with neighbors, and warm up. Have you been to our park? Have you been through some of our green belt trails? This is an awesome opportunity for the young and the wise to get outside and enjoy the beauty of our area. You might just see a bunny, deer, or some other kind of wildlife on your adventure. We have two courses that take you through some of the most scenic parts of Wilderness Rim. Come join in on the fun! There will be prizes and yummies for the participants and to those who will be cheerleading along the way!
We have two exciting new courses this year which will be fun!
1K course – this will take you through beautiful Brewster lake trail and start and end at the bright yellow gate! All 1k kids will receive a finisher’s medal! https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/711506246
5K course description – We did things a little differently this year. Instead of two laps around the main loop we created a one lap course which takes you into the trails and back streets of the rim. A water station will be provided at the triangle which is roughly around the half-way point. Runners and walkers are welcome (sorry, no dogs per our liability insurance policy). 9-9:50 – Registration
10:00 – Start of 1k Fun Run/walk
10:15 – Start of 5k Run/walk
11:15 – Awards Ceremony

Just an idea for next year! Do you have an artistic ability? Would your child like to design the Rim Run design for t-shirts next year? Put your thinking caps on and let’s create something we can wear next year!!
***VOLUNTEERS NEEDED***
We need those who would like to be course marshals to be on the course. We also need help at the aid station at the triangle. We are looking for a total of 12 people! Great community service opportunity!
